Placemakers-book-cover.pngConsider how today’s real estate developers, ancient political leaders and international rulers, and some unexpected others, all shape and define “place.” Join Herb Auerbach, real estate development consultant, and co-author Ira Nadel, professor of English, University of British Columbia, as they discuss their new book Placemakers: Emperors, Kings, and Entrepreneurs - A Brief History of Real Estate Development (Figure.1, 2016) and what has motivated real estate developers throughout the ages, beyond ambition, money, and ego. This program is moderated by Daniel J. Sernovitz, staff reporter, Washington Business Journal.
