pollinator-garden-udc-rooftop-farming.gifDiscover a working farm high above the city on the University of the District of Columbia (UDC) campus. Architect David Bell and UDC greenhouse/green roof coordinator Sandy Farber lead a tour of the roof top farm, greenhouse with hydroponics and aquaponics, and pollinator garden. Learn how the farm is used to research and promote best practices for urban food production while helping D.C. residents become healthier through access to fresh, nutritious food. After the tour, continue the conversation on urban agriculture and sustainable design with your fellow explorers at Soapstone Market.

On-site + Conversation = Insight & Inspiration

Urban Salons illuminate the past, present, and future of the built environment in the Washington Metropolitan Area. The program consists of an interactive site visit led by knowledgeable guides, and a post-tour converstion with fellow explorers in a nearby cafe to share thoughts, insights, and questions about the site visit experience.

$15. Pre-registration required. Space is limited to 15 people. Ticket price does not include food or beverages.

Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. Online registration for this program closes at midnight the day before the program.
