FREE. Workshop for teachers at accredited K-12 schools. The Designing for Disaster Teaching Kit is recommended for teachers of students in grades 7-9. Registration required. Learn how to bring resilient building techniques and basic city planning concepts into your classroom at this educator workshop. Examine the effects of natural disasters on the built environment and learn how building professionals, homeowners, and planners use design to mitigate damages. Museum staff will model lesson plans, demonstrate teaching tools, and explore materials from Designing for Disaster, the National Building Museum’s newest classroom-ready teaching kit.
