Family Afternoon: Winter Bird Retreats

Drilling at the Big Build  Photo by Museum Staff

It's getting chilly out there! Gear up for the cold season and build a winter roost box for birds. Using simple tools and pre-cut wood learn how to construct an insulated home to keep neighborhood birds like chickadees and wrens warm during the chilly months. Learn about birdhouse design, and take home a hand-built creation of your own.

Sign up for one of two sessions: 1 - 2 pm or 2 - 3 pm

Price per Roost: $10 members, $15 non-members. Two participants can comfortably build one roost. Paid pre-registration required. Recommended for ages 7 - 12, with adult companion.
