Through research and hands-on prototyping, students from Takoma Education Campus and School Without Walls at Francis-Stevens explored the role of commemorative spaces in the city. They will present the models and drawings of their ideas for new memorials in Washington, D.C. Join us for a reception and showcase of their work.
The National Building Museum’s Teen Programs teach the principles of design to show participants that they can affect the world around them and enact positive change through good design. As students explore challenges, brainstorm solutions, and accomplish projects together, they learn the importance of teamwork, creative problem solving, and advocacy.
