Panelists explore the history of Pierre L’Enfant’s plan for Washington, D.C. and how the plan influences the look and feel of the city today. The panelists will examine some of L’Enfant’s unrealized concepts, such as the idea to have states adopt squares across the city. A book signing follows the program. This program complements the exhibition Unbuilt Washington, which will be open for viewing before the lecture. The exhibition closes on May 28.

Panelists include:

  • G. Martin Moeller, Jr., senior vice president and curator, National Building Museum (moderator)
  • Whayne Quin, partner, Holland and Knight
