Spotlight on Design: Robert A.M. Stern on the Garden Suburb

If you have already created a profile on www.nbm.org, please sign in to autopopulate your information.

RAMSA founder and senior partner Robert A.M. Stern, FAIA, presents a history of the planned garden suburb in conjunction with the recent publication of Paradise Planned: The Garden Suburb and the Modern City, of which he was co-author along with David Fishman and Jacob Tilove. The book is the definitive history of the garden suburb from its origin in late-eighteenth-century England to the onset of World War II, and suggests how the principles of traditional town planning can inform efforts to remedy fraying urban fabric and suburban sprawl in our own time. A book signing will take place after the talk.

For Corinthian members, join us before the program in the Corinthian Lounge at 5:30 pm to enjoy light refreshments.
