Christopher Sharples (SHoP), Thomas Robinson (LEVER Architecture); and Hans-Erik Blomgren (Arup) discuss the benefits of tall timber construction, the latest innovation in building technologies. The United States Department of Agriculture and the Softwood Lumber Board recently awarded $3 million to these firms, who will build two tall timber building projects in New York City and Portland, Oregon. The program is presented in conjunction with the exhibition Timber City, which will be on view before the lecture.
