Homeschool Day

The National Building Museum invites individual families to register for the Museum’s second Homeschool Day of the 2013-2014 school year on Wednesday, April 16, 2014. For a description of the programs offered, click on a program name below.

You must register for each program separately. Pre-registration is required by the end of the day on Sunday, April 13, 2014. You are welcome to register for a morning program and an afternoon program. If you have any questions about the event, please read the Homeschool Day FAQ or contact the Museum at 202.272.2448 or at youthgroups@nbm.org.

If the program you're interested in is sold out, consider attending our June 2 homeschool day or gathering friends and registering for a group program.

Morning Programs

Engineering Egg Drop, 10-14 year olds, 10 am-Noon Walk-In Tickets Available
Frieze Stories, 7-9 year olds, 10 am-Noon FULL
City by Design, 8-10 year olds, 10 am-Noon FULL
Patterns Here, There, and Everywhere, 4-6 year olds, 10:30 am-12 noon FULL

Afternoon Programs

Be a Green Builder, 10-14 year olds, 1 pm-3 pm Walk-In Tickets Available
Miniature Park Design, 7-10 year olds, 1 pm-3 pm FULL
My House, My Home, 4-6 year olds, 1 pm-2:30 pm FULL
 

Cost

Programs
Each $10 ticket covers one child’s participation in one homeschool program. There is no cost for adults to chaperone the homeschool programs. This program ticket does not include admission to the Museum’s exhibitions.

Exhibitions
If families would like to visit the Museum’s exhibitions before or after the Homeschool Day programs, discounted exhibition tickets may be purchased online during pre-registration or on the day of your visit. The cost is $3 per participating student and $5 per adult and/or tag-a-long sibling.
